Momma Lew's review of:
As my children are getting older and getting closer to a reading age, I am really working hard to try my best at teaching them sight words. Problem is, my son really does not like sitting with me and doing school work. With his teacher, he is great at paying attention, but not with me. Because of this, I am always trying to find new and unique ways to get him learning. Whether it's computer programs like ABC Mouse or the Reading Kingdom or now DVDs like Rock n Learn. Rock n Learn pairs educational material to current music and colorful imagery.
My children recently got to review Rock n Learn's Sight Words Level 3 DVD. Sight words are the foundation for any early reader, as they are words that your child can easily recognize and read. Rock n Learn's Sight Words DVD reviews all of the Dolch 1st Grade sight words, as well as many from the Fry list. The DVD presents over 60 sight words in context so your child can remember how it should be used when reading.
I really like how the program pairs the words with music. I find that my children always remember something when it comes with a catchy tune. Each word is highlighted as it is said. Of course, by starting with the easiest of words first the kids are able to build up their confidence as the program progresses.
There's so much more than just sight words too! Rock n Learn has DVD's for:
- Colors, shapes & counting
- The alphabet
- Kindergarten readiness
- Letter sounds, Phonics, Grammar & Reading Comprehension
- Writing strategies
- Money & Making Change
- Time
- Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, & Division
- Fractions & Decimals
- Physical, Earth, & Life Sciences
- The Human Body
- The Solar System
- States & Capitals
- Presidents & US Government
- Spanish, French & Learn English
Rock n Learn has won over 100 awards!

I had no idea they made DVDs like this. My daughter struggles with her reading. This may help.
