Creamy Mushroom Chicken

This was one of the first recipes in my new Slow Cookers, Casseroles, & Skillets cookbook by Gooseberry Patch and I thought it was delicious!  I was expecting it to be creamier, but it came out to be very similar to Chicken Marsala.

Creamy Mushroom Chicken
2-3 lbs. chicken
2 10 3/4 oz. cans of cream of chicken soup
8-oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 c. chicken broth
1.35-oz. pkg. onion soup mix

Arrange chicken pieces in a slow cooker.  Combine remaining ingredients; pour over chicken.  Cover and cook on low setting for 5-6 hours.  Serves 5.

Now chicken wasn't on sale this week at my supermarket (ShopRite), so I only was able to use 1 lb of fairly thin chicken breasts.  I just halved everything else and it was enough for I'd say maybe 2 people, which is enough for us anyway.  I served it over rice.
