Picture this: It's been an extra long winter and your kids are just dying to enjoy a summer day. What's a mom to do?! Take them to CoCo Key Water Resort of course! Cure your cabin fever with their ALWAYS sunny, 84 degree days! We were all very excited to have a day out when Coco Key asked to review their facilities!
The CoCo Key Water Resort is located at the Hotel ML in Mount Laurel, NJ. Because we live about 45 minutes North of here, we did not stay at the hotel. We got to the water park just before they opened at 4pm. There was plenty of parking. The park's lobby was large, spacious and clean and the welcoming staff was very friendly. They directed us to our locker.
Clean bathrooms is a huge indicator for me at how an experience is going to go. The bathrooms were spotless. You had the option to rent a smaller $5 locker or a larger $10 locker. We had a large locker and it was able to hold 2 women's pocketbooks, 2 large tote bags and some other odds and ends, with room to spare. There is nothing more annoying than renting a locker someplace and all of your stuff not fitting, so you need to spend additional money. We got changed and it was time to play!

I have been around pools and water parks since my childhood. I have never experienced lifeguards paying such close attention like the ones at CoCo Key. Every single one of them had safety a priority and that made me feel very comfortable. Throughout the resort there were numerous tables and chairs. If you are not staying at the hotel, you need to provide your own towels.
Having fun at Dip-In, a wading pool specially designed for little guests! |
When you pull up to Coco Key, you immediately notice 3 large water slides. It was just too hard to try out the slides with the kids, but hopefully next time we can! The Shark Slam, Barracuda Blast and Pelican Plunge create over 1,000 feet of water slide adventure to your Coco Key experience.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the resort, but there are several options for dining at CoCo Key. There is even a full service bar where many guests were ordering beer and fun tropical looking cocktails. When you get tired of the wet attractions, guests can enjoy the Key Quest Arcade, where everyone is a winner in the play to you win arcade.
We stayed at CoCo Key for about 2 and a half hours before the kids got hungry and tired. For my children, ages 2 and 4, this was more than enough time. If we were to go back again, we'd probably do the Twilight deal (Mon-Sun after 4pm) which is $19.99 a person when you purchase online. The Family Fun Pack is a great deal if you are attending with your family. There are also some great Overnight Packages if you decide to stay at the hotel.
We really had a fantastic time. I felt my children were a great age for CoCo Key. The attractions to me would be perfect for toddlers up to maybe around age 12 or 13. Besides the 3 slides, there isn't much for thrill seekers, which is why I felt it was perfect for us. We all kept saying we felt like we were on vacation!!
