Low Country Boil

My husband has a slight obsession with Old Bay seasoning.  When I told him about this recipe, his face lit up and I have already made it twice this week!

In the crockpot:

  • Add about 6 cups of chicken broth.  I use my homemade broth that I make from my rotisserie chicken
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1/4c old bay
  • 1tsp of salt

Let that cook for 4-6 hours on low.

  • Add 1 sliced kielbasa link and
  • 4 ears of corn that have been quartered.  We're thrilled that it is summer & that means farm fresh corn for us!

Cook an additional 2 hours

  • Add 1 pound of cleaned shrimp

Cook for 20-30 minutes longer.  A little trick that I do though.  I find that the food at this point is very hot and I shut off my crockpot at this point.  The broth is hot enough to cook your shrimp through.

Season further to taste & enjoy!
