{[REVIEW}} Nuby Easy Grip Fork & Spoon Starter Set

It's amazing how when you become a mother, you agonize to make sure you have all of the right products for your child, even right down to a fork and spoon! The amount of forks and spoons I have bought for me to feed my children and for them to feed themselves is ridiculous.  I find that most utensils are not made for food to stay on the utensil surface when clumsy hands are using them.  Some utensils feel hard in your child's mouth & they don't want eat off of them.

I recently had the opportunity to review Nuby's Easy Grip Fork & Spoon Starter Set.

The Easy Grip Fork & Spoon have been designed with a soft-grip handle.  The handle is shaped with little hands in mind.  The comfortable grip helps them transition from weaning to independent feeding.  I really liked the fact that they came with 2 sets of spoons & forks.  This was great for my household, as my son was able to claim the blue & green as his own and my daughter claimed the yellow and orange.

Being only 2 years old, my daughter is a pretty messy eater still.  Many times she will abandon her utensils because it just is too frustrating for her and takes too much  precision to get the food into her mouth. Why use a fork or spoon when you can use your fingers and eat faster!?  I actually do not use any other utensils anymore.  We now only use the Easy Grip utensils.  Both of my children were able to immediately hold the utensils in a very comfortable position.  My daughter was almost shocked that the food stayed on her fork and made it to her mouth.

The Nuby Easy Grip Starter Set is made for 18 months and up and is BPA free.  You can find them available at these retailers:

  1. I've seen these! They're rated for much older than my son right now (7 months), but after reading this, I'll look for these when it's time for him to switch off of his weaning spoons! It's so overwhelming to have so many different choices for just a fork and spoon, and it's hard to tell which ones are really good! So it's nice to hear these are such an excellent choice! I love the cute gender-neutral colors. One thing that annoyed me when looking at Tommee Tippee spoons, is the packs of 5 come with boy and girl colors. That seems kind of silly.

  4. I think I'm going to get these for my son when he's a little older. He started trying to feed himself at about 7 months, but I nixed it until he's older...I'm going to wait until his motor skills are a little more developed (less mess!).
