Peach Crunch Cake!

I'm always seeing these easy, peasy recipes for "Dump Cakes" and I have been really wanting to try one out all the time.  There are all different types of variations (ie: cherries, pineapple, peaches), but the basics are always the same - fruit, cake mix, butter.

I got this recipe from Bakerella.

Peach Crunch Cake

Ingredients:

24.5 oz jar of sliced peaches in light syrup (I used 2 10oz jars of peaches)
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I wasn't going to use nuts, but then I remembered I had Pecans left)

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a 13x9 baking dish (I always spray with some non-stick cooking spray to avoid sticking and frustration), "dump" in your peaches (I cut them in half and some in thirds):
"Dump" in your cake mix, making sure to completely cover the peaches:
Slice up your butter and put on top of the cake mix:
Next "dump" in your brown sugar, making sure to completely cover the butter:

Like I said, I wasn't going to add nuts, but I remembered about the pecans and I just crushed them up.  Personally, I think this was a great choice of a nut, it added a very "Southern" type of flavor to it and I couldn't imagine using another type of nut.

Bake for about 40 minutes.

Please excuse my lack of a "fresh out of the oven" photo, between my 2 1/2 year old and 6 week old, I was lucky to even had the 5 minutes to put this together.  And also please excuse the lack of "in a bowl with some whipped cream on top" photo, once it DID come out of the oven, this thing did not stand a chance.

Enjoy!
