Princess Party!

2 weeks ago my daughter turned 2 years old!  I can hardly believe it!  My little beauty is quite princess obsessed, so we had a princess themed party!

The kids loved these Princess (or Prince) wands!  Each one I made myself!

It cost about $5 all together at Michael's for the supplies to make 12.  I bought 2 sheets of foam - pink & green.  And then a package of dowels.  I cut out star shapes, using a star cookie cutter as my stencil.  I hot glued the dowel to a star & then glued the other side on.  I added some curling ribbon as a little extra flair.  So cute!

One of my next crafty purchases is going to be a Silhouette or Cricut machine, so that I can make something as cute as this:

Until then, I counted on Charlie Thyme to help me out.  She made me this beautiful banner & a dozen smaller Princess dresses to match.  It's now hanging in my Princess' room as a decoration!

Finally and of course, the Grand Finale!

Since I was little I always remember seeing these doll cakes & I love them.  I thought & thought & thought about this cake.  And guess what? I still AM!  It was delicious & looked beautiful, if I say so myself!

Looks hard right?  NOPE!  I used The Pampered Chef's Classic Batter Bowl to make the cake into the dress form.  Two boxes of mix & their ingredients work fine.  Oh and here's a little tip:  Use milk in place of the water in the cake recipe.  I got the Doll at Walmart on clearance for $7 and because she was slightly longer than the batter bowl cake, I needed to make a little stand for her.  So you will need one more box of cake mix to make that as well.  Finally to decorate it, I used the Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator.  I've never been a very good cake decorator.  However, this tool was so easy to use and cleaned up really easy.  I'd say if you are a novice baker, you could definitely try this out!
